The curriculum is a combination of machining theory, 25%, and extensive hands-on training, 75%. The duration of the training is 15 weeks at 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, for a total of 600 hours. Four college credits are awarded for successfully completing the training and each of the 6 required NIMS credentials, for a total of 24 credit hours. A Certificate of Graduation may be earned by also taking an applied math I class and an interpersonal communication class. The VUHTEC CNC lab contains 13 industrial size Haas CNC machines plus an array of supporting manual machines and metrology equipment.\n\nAs part of Governor Holcomb's Next Level Jobs initiative, the Workforce Ready Grant program provides free training for working-age Hoosiers in the state's highest demand jobs.
