Through lecture and skills development, students will gain practical knowledge needed to provide care for the elderly, disabled persons, and infants in the home. Instruction will focus on developing attitudes and knowledge necessary to perform basic care, housekeeping, personal hygiene, and other supportive services essential to the patient's health. \n\nAt the completion of the program, candidates who have mastered all required skills competencies and passed the written final exam with a score of 80% or greater will be recognized and certified as a Home Health Aide through the New York State Home Care Worker Registry.\n\nEligible candidates must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, meet immunization and health compliance requirements, and maintain medical insurance while enrolled.
