The track is also ideal for non-certified teachers and non-teachers who want to gain expertise in the field of special education, such as behavior specialists, instructional coordinators, home schoolers, and parents of children who are at-risk or identified with special needs.\n\n\nMaster of Education in Special Education-Cross Endorsement Program: This track is designed for licensed teachers who hold a valid Connecticut teaching certificate in another area (such as elementary education or secondary education, among others). Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to apply to the state of Connecticut to add an additional endorsement in special education to their teaching certificate.\n\n\nMaster of Education in Special Education-Initial Certification Program: This track is designed for students who hold a bachelor's degree and would like to enter the special education teaching profession. This could include substitute teachers, para educators, school psychologists, and individuals who want to become teachers.
