Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with some additional Wednesday evenings from 5:30-8:30pm. The majority of the course will take place virtually utilizing Google Classroom and Desire 2 Learn (D2L), but some in-person attendance is required. The Healthcare Plus training program is designed to set participants up for a successful career as a Patient Care Tech or Remote Observation Technician. Other titles could include Patient Assistant Coordinator or Health Unit Coordinator. These roles have a variety of shifts and can range from $18-23 an hour. Prospective job duties may look like assisting patients, family members and visitors with finding their way around the Unit; thoroughly documenting relevant patient information to assure accurate billing; perform accurate and timely processing of physician orders. To prepare, participants will take courses at Minneapolis College in: Behaviors for Success \u0026 Communication in Healthcare, Medical Terminology, Medical Records, Other Healthcare Core topics, and receive your CPR/BLS and Mental Health Certificate.
