The CNA must be able to communicate effectively in English, see and hear adequately, engage in physically demanding work for 8-12 hours at a time, be willing to help others, enjoy a fast-paced work environment, and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team. The purpose of the program is to prepare students for employment as nursing assistants/nurse aides in assisted living facilities, long-term care and acute care facilities. Successful completion of this program prepares the student for the state nursing assistant certification exam in accordance with Florida Statutes 464. This program offers a coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers.
