This program prepares students to become entry-level\ncardiovascular technologists. Graduates will be able to find employment in hospitals, diagnostic\nimaging centers, and other healthcare related facilities. The CVT program is taught using a\nhybrid/blended learning environment.\n\nStudents will learn to perform cardiac and vascular examinations utilizing ultrasound\nequipment. During these examinations students will learn to locate, evaluate, and record critical,\nfunctional, pathological, and anatomical data. Upon completion of the program, graduates will\nbe proficient in non-invasive cardiac sonography and peripheral vascular sonography. CVT\ngraduates will demonstrate behaviors consistent with professional standards and will meet\nemployer expectations for an entry-level position.\n\nUpon satisfactory completion of this program, graduates will be prepared to take the Registered\nCardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification exam offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing\nInternational (CCI), and the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) and Adult\nEchocardiography exams offered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography\n(ARDMS).\n\nAfter completing all program requirements, graduates will be awarded an Associate of Applied\nScience in Cardiovascular Technology.\n\nThis program will be delivered using hybrid learning. All hybrid programs include online learning and in-person instruction. The schedule for this program is based on a 15-week semester.
