Our industry partnerships, real-world facilities and a central location near prominent breweries and distilleries of the Northeast allow the program to offer students enrolled in the certificate program grounded hands-on learning and exposure to a robust professional network of collaborators. \r\n \r\nThe Certificate offers training in the following topics \r\nDistillation theory \r\nDistillation ingredient and recipe design \r\nDistilled spirits styles \r\nSensory analysis of distilled spirits \r\nDistillery operations \r\nProfessional equipment care and use \r\nDistillation sanitation and safety \r\nProduct quality control \u0026amp; product quality assurance \r\nDistillery management \r\nDistillation law and legal compliance \r\n\r\n \r\nThe Distillation Science Certificate at SHU makes use of state-of-the-art facilities located at Two Road's Brewing and Distilling Area Two facility for in-person applied in distilling.  \r\nIn-person instruction takes place in the lab at Area Two and is scheduled on evenings and weekends to accommodate working professionals. The programs are organized around self-contained modules of study allowing flexible enrollment and program completion options.
