The course includes sections on issues such as fate and transport analysis, iron and manganese, hard water, fire in the watershed, animal feeding operations, nutrients, wastewater treatment, and emerging contaminants. This course contains 1.0 hour of reading content and 1.5 hours of video content for a total of 2.5 hours. Nearly 50 short videos make content presentation lively and engaging.\n\nWater Quality Basics is an update of the Water Quality Expedition (WQE) program that was initially released by the Montana Water Center in 2005 with funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Water Quality 101 contains the same information as WQE, with content reviewed and updated to match current standards and regulations.\n\nWater Quality Basics is brought to you by the Montana Water Center in partnership with Academic Technology and Outreach at Montana State University. The course was developed with funding from the Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), a National Science Foundation-supported effort that has grown science and technology infrastructure in Montana since 1980.\n\nFor questions regarding course content, please email water@montana.edu\nFor technical questions, please email nehasil@montana.edu"},"ceterms:isNonCredit":true,"ceterms:occupationType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.onetcenter.org/taxonomy.html","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/51-8031.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"51-8031.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant and System Operators"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Operate or control an entire process or system of machines, often through the use of control boards, to transfer or treat water or wastewater."}}],"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://eu.courses.montana.edu/CourseStatus.awp?course=25AWATERCV","ceterms:audienceLevelType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/AudienceLevel","ceterms:targetNode":"audLevel:BeginnerLevel","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Audience Level"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Beginner Level"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Intended for novices or those with limited experience."}}],"ceterms:estimatedDuration":[{"@type":"ceterms:DurationProfile","ceterms:exactDuration":"PT2.5H"}],"ceterms:availabilityListing":["https://eu.courses.montana.edu/CourseStatus.awp?course=25AWATERCV"],"ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}},"ceterms:learningDeliveryType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/Delivery","ceterms:targetNode":"deliveryType:OnlineOnly","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Delivery Type"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Online Only"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Delivery is only via the Internet."}}],"ceterms:instructionalProgramType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/Default.aspx?y=56","ceterms:targetNode":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/cipdetail.aspx?y=56\u0026cip=15.0506","ceterms:codedNotation":"15.0506","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Classification of Instructional Programs"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Water Quality and Wastewater Treatment Management and Recycling Technology/Technician"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"A program that prepares individuals to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills in support of engineers and other professionals engaged in developing and using water storage, waterpower, and wastewater treatment systems.
