USI's Sociology Department has also earned generous awards for academic excellence, a student club, and an active chapter of the international sociology honors society, Alpha Kappa Delta.\n\nAs a graduate of the sociology program, you will have skills to lead organizations and hands-on experience with analyzing data. A sociology degree will open doors for you after graduation because it has wide applicability to lots of different kinds of work. You may be successful in getting jobs in corporations, non-profits, and government or admission into graduate school and other professional programs. Alumni have worked as leaders in organizations of local, national, and global significance including the Congress of the United States, the Peace Corps, Habitat for Humanity, Indiana state government and the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office.
