Phlebotomist collect the blood necessary for testing; allowing the physician and health care provider to make informed decisions. Skilled phlebotomist can find hidden veins, introduce a needle into a vein, and extract blood with little or no discomfort to the patient. Successful graduates of our Phlebotomy Program gain essential skill and education in phlebotomy that will enable future phlebotomist to effectively communicate and interact personally and professionally in a health care setting. To date the Phlebotomy Program at APLMED academy has graduated more than 150 students. Classroom Components Since the phlebotomist is considered a part of the laboratory team, they must be trained in all aspects of specimen collection and processing. Our program includes safe and efficient work practices that teach students to: Obtain specimens Collect blood by veinipuncture or capillary Handle specimens Proper labeling, sorting and preparation for testing Communication skills Emergency procedure 'Real-Life' Experience As students learn with hands-on training by a certified and working phlebotomist instructor they will also take part in an unpaid internship to gain \"real-life\" experience before entering job opportunities. Upon a successful completion of the Phlebotomy Program at APLMED Academy and complete internship, graduates earn a Certificate in Phlebotomy."},"ceterms:estimatedCost":[{"@type":"ceterms:CostProfile","ceterms:name":{"en-US":"Cost Profile"},"ceterms:price":1000.0,"ceterms:currency":"US Dollar","ceterms:costDetails":"http://aplmed.com","ceterms:description":{"en-US":"This is the summary of the costs associated with this credential."},"ceterms:directCostType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CostType","ceterms:targetNode":"costType:Tuition","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Cost Type"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Tuition"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Cost for teaching and instruction."}}},{"@type":"ceterms:CostProfile","ceterms:name":{"en-US":"Cost Profile"},"ceterms:price":1000.0,"ceterms:currency":"US Dollar","ceterms:costDetails":"http://aplmed.com","ceterms:description":{"en-US":"This is the summary of the costs associated with this credential."},"ceterms:directCostType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CostType","ceterms:targetNode":"costType:AggregateCost","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Cost Type"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Aggregate Cost"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Sum of direct costs."}}}],"ceterms:occupationType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.onetcenter.org/taxonomy.html","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/19-1011.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"19-1011.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Animal Scientists"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Conduct research in the genetics, nutrition, reproduction, growth, and development of domestic farm animals."}},{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.onetcenter.org/taxonomy.html","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/19-1012.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"19-1012.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Food Scientists and Technologists"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Use chemistry, microbiology, engineering, and other sciences to study the principles underlying the processing and deterioration of foods; analyze food content to determine levels of vitamins, fat, sugar, and protein; discover new food sources; research ways to make processed foods safe, palatable, and healthful; and apply food science knowledge to determine best ways to process, package, preserve, store, and distribute food."}},{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.onetcenter.org/taxonomy.html","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/19-1013.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"19-1013.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Soil and Plant Scientists"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Conduct research in breeding, physiology, production, yield, and management of crops and agricultural plants or trees, shrubs, and nursery stock, their growth in soils, and control of pests; or study the chemical, physical, biological, and mineralogical composition of soils as they relate to plant or crop growth.
