The curriculum prepares students to deal\nwith the complex environmental problems that confront\nsociety by providing a broad, basic understanding of how\nphysical, biological and human components of the envi-\nronment interact. The degree's core courses examine the\nrelationship between nature and social systems. Further-\nmore, they introduce students to the interplay between\nnatural and social systems, and the ideological founda-\ntions of humankind's attitudes and behaviors with respect\nto their ever-changing environments. The courses are\ndesigned to equip students with necessary lab skills that\ninvolve the scientific method, and the critical understand -\ning of the interrelationship between science and nature;\nhelping students to be more avid in the studying and solv-\ning of environmental problems that deal with biological\nscience matters.
