Staff members teach each worker skills according to their ability levels. Once in the program, participants are assigned to a training track based on results of performance and test results; basic employment, entry level manufacturing and manufacturing focused tracks. All participants perform manufacturing work through hand-on work experience. The basic employment track focuses on gaining positive work behaviors and resume building but is not necessarily manufacturing focused. Entry level manufacturing offers a first step into the manufacturing or production industry. The manufacturing focused track targets skill areas that will translate directly into job and career in the manufacturing industry. Orion offers an array of groups including math, blueprint reading and life skills classes as well as goal development and job seeking skills curriculum. Every student in Orion's program is supported by a Vocational Counselor who assists in setting and achieving goals.
