ADS students learn fundamental architectural design skills and develop proficiency in the latest Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. Students get to choose from a variety of technical electives in design, architectural history, construction management, and sustainable construction, while also receiving a solid background in the liberal arts.\n\nOnce you graduate with an A.A.S. degree in Architectural Design Studies from Onondaga, you will be well prepared to seek employment opportunities in the field. A wide range of employment possibilities exist in the areas of design, construction, and related fields. In addition, some students may wish to transfer courses from the Architectural Design Studies A.A.S. to selected bachelor's degree programs. An academic advisor will assist you with planning these transfer credits.\n\nThe Architectural Design Studies program, housed within the department of Applied Engineering Technology, is held in high regard in the Central New York architectural community for its ability to challenge its students and instill essential technical skills that are in demand in the industry. The faculty includes practicing architects, designers, and engineers who are well versed in the materials, methods, and software utilized in the field.\n\nStudents in the program will be required to create, transmit, and present assignments using computers and other digital technology. Students have access to computer labs with the required software needed to prepare digital portfolios, construction documents, and other related data.\n\nIndividual courses are available to practicing professionals who wish to update skills and to satisfy continuing education requirements."},"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://www.sunyocc.edu/programs/architectural-design-aas","ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}}}
