Our multidisciplinary approach is designed to provide you with the knowledge and experience to be successful in this dynamic and rapidly evolving field. Whatever your interests, the world-class resources of the Jacobs School combined with the outstanding academic programs at Indiana University will allow you to pursue a course of study tailored specifically to your educational goals. The process of creating an audio recording that is ready for public release requires knowledge, skills, and practice that are both technical and creative; it's a combination that can be embodied in a single person or across a group of people. Jacobs Music Production degree separates the required knowledge, skills, and practice into two tracks. The Audio Engineering track focuses mainly on the technical side while the Creation and Production track will focus mainly on the creative side. There is certainly a great deal of overlap, and we foresee many in the Audio Engineering track choosing the Music Production minor, which focuses on the creative side."},"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://music.indiana.edu/degrees-programs/areas-of-study/musicproduction.html","ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}},"ceterms:learningDeliveryType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/Delivery","ceterms:targetNode":"deliveryType:InPerson","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Delivery Type"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"In-Person Only"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Delivery is only face-to-face."}}],"ceterms:instructionalProgramType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/Default.aspx?y=56","ceterms:targetNode":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/cipdetail.aspx?y=56\u0026cip=10.0203","ceterms:codedNotation":"10.0203","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Classification of Instructional Programs"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Recording Arts Technology/Technician"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to the production of sound recordings as finished products or as components of film/video, broadcast, live, or mixed media productions.
