Upon completion, students are eligible to take the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) examination to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, AAMA), and the American Medical Technologist (AMT) examination to become a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).  The Medical Assistant Program at Iowa Western Community College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Medical Assistant Education Review Board (MAERB).
