Employment opportunities continue to thrive, and the demand for trained welding technicians in the field continues to increase. The Manufacturing Industrial Technology program trains students to work as professionals in this field using the Gas Metal Arc Weld Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), and/or Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) processes. By fulfilling the program requirements, students will have gained the skills necessary for certification thru the American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welder Program and the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety Certified Welder Examination using GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW. In addition to those conventional skills, the program will expose students to advanced automated welding techniques such as CNC plasma cutting, robotic welding, and friction stir welding.\n\nPlease see the college Catalog for the most up-to-date description."},"ceterms:accreditedBy":["_:3bbe3c81-6c1f-4fed-b5f3-4308185facca"],"ceterms:dateEffective":"2017-08-01","ceterms:occupationType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/51-4121.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"51-4121.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Welders, Cutters, Solderers, and Brazers"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products."}},{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/51-4121.06","ceterms:codedNotation":"51-4121.06","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Welders, Cutters, and Welder Fitters"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products."}},{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/51-4121.07","ceterms:codedNotation":"51-4121.07","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Solderers and Brazers"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Braze or solder together components to assemble fabricated metal parts, using soldering iron, torch, or welding machine and flux."}}],"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://www.lattc.edu/academics/pathways","ceterms:estimatedDuration":[{"@type":"ceterms:DurationProfile","ceterms:exactDuration":"P20M"}],"ceterms:availabilityListing":["https://www.lattc.edu"],"ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}},"ceterms:instructionalProgramType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/Default.aspx?y=55","ceterms:targetNode":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/cipdetail.aspx?y=56\u0026cip=48.0508","ceterms:codedNotation":"48.0508","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Classification of Instructional Programs"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Welding Technology/Welder"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to join or cut metal surfaces.
