Online applications are immediately sent to the Licensing Division for processing and don't have to go through additional departments for sorting and payment processing.\n\nIf an online application is available, you are strongly encouraged to apply online.\n\nTo apply for a new Mold Remediation Worker Registration, submit a completed application form (Apply Online or see Mold Remediation Worker Initial Registration Application) along with the $50 registration fee.\n\nQualifications\nYou must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.\n\nSubmit with your application a copy of your initial mold remediation worker course certificate provided by a department accredited training provider or licensed mold remediation contractor.\n\nEmployer Requirements\nOffice in Texas\nIf you are currently employed by a company or individual that performs mold remediation, your employer must maintain an office in Texas.\n\nYou will be asked to provide your employer's license number (if applicable) on the application form.\n\nInsurance\nYou must provide a copy of your employer's certificate of insurance as evidence that the employer meets the requirement of maintaining a commercial general liability insurance policy in the amount of at least $1 million per occurrence.\n\nYou may be exempt from providing documentation of insurance if you meet any of the following conditions:\n\nYou are currently unemployed. Before performing mold-related activities, you must provide the required proof of insurance coverage to the department.\nYour employer is licensed with TDLR as a Mold Remediation Company.\nYou are employed by a governmental entity.\nYou are employed by non-governmental entity that is considered \"self-insured.\" Please submit to the department a signed affidavit stating that the employer has a net worth of at least $1 million. A current financial statement indicating a net worth of at least $1 million must accompany the affidavit.\n\nExamination \nUpon approval of your completed application, you will be eligible to take the examination for Mold Assessment Consultant.
