The cell and molecular neuroscience major offers students the opportunity to build knowledge across the natural and social sciences  exploring the elaborate chains of causality that lead from molecules to behavior, as well as the dramatic impact exerted by social, personal, and environmental influences on the dynamic patterns of neural activity that drive cognition, emotion, and behavior. Students experience a synthesis of coursework offered by the Departments of Biological Science, Psychology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Statistics. The unique multidisciplinary breadth of the cell and molecular neuroscience major prepares students for a variety of STEM-related careers as technicians, researchers, educators, or health professionals.
