Nearly three-quarters of the required courses are traditional liberal arts and easily transfer to four-year institutions. The remaining courses can be in any subject area, but students should be aware that courses in specific career areas may not easily transfer. It is important that students meet with an advisor to choose their courses, based on their career plans. It is recommended that they take the elective courses in their first two semesters in order to best explore various career possibilities. Students take basic General Education courses, which they can use to transfer to a four-year institution. Should they decide on a specific career area, they may apply them to an Associate in Applied Science degree.
