Mathematics, communications skills, computer, general and industrial-related safety, and science courses are included to provide the broad-based skills and knowledge essential to modern process and maintenance technicians. Specialized hands-on and theory training in the areas of chemistry, instrumentation, maintenance, process operations, and unit operations provides the technical competencies needed in the industry.  Process technicians are responsible for operating, controlling, and monitoring the steel manufacturing or chemical processes involved in steel production or chemical and other related plant industry processes.
