The degree program is led by founding program director, Douglas Morris, PhD, OTR/L. He brings nearly 20 years of academic experience to this position. Under his leadership, the OTD program has been granted full accreditation status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). All classes/labs are taught in the new $42.8 million dollar Ott Hall of Sciences and Nursing.\n\nA major strength of the OTD program at Indiana Wesleyan University is the educational diversity and clinical expertise of the program's exceptional faculty. The program has five full-time faculty members, one part-time faculty member, and three occupational therapists who serve as adjunct faculty. The faculty and adjunct faculty at IWU have earned their occupational therapy degrees from eight different institutions of higher learning. Combined, the occupational therapists on faculty represent an excess of 180 years of experience. Three of the occupational therapists in the program have experience as educational program directors.\n\nThe vision of the Indiana Wesleyan University Occupational Therapy Program is to glorify God by changing the world of healthcare through the preparation of students who fully embrace the art and science of the occupational therapy, thus enabling graduates to provide compassionate, creative, ethical, and evidence-based services in an increasingly diverse and technologically advanced world.\n\nThe mission of the Occupational Therapy Program is to educate practitioners who will collaborate interprofessionally to promote client-centered, occupation-based practice and provide servant leadership within their communities.
