Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship includes minimum of 144 hours of Related Technical Instruction (RTI) and 2,000 hours of On the Job Learning (OJL). Upon successful completion of 144 hours of RTI, students are eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam. Pharmacy Technician works under a licensed pharmacist to process prescriptions, dispense medications and provide information to customers. During this program, students will learn the following: foundation for pharmacy practice as related to medical law and ethics; basic pharmacology; reading prescriptions; preparing medications in in-patient care facilities; and direct order pharmacies. Students practice receiving incoming prescriptions, transcribing physicians orders, calculating doses, preparing IVs, packaging medications, filling patients cassettes, labeling, inventory management,
