The program is designed to meet the licensure requirements of the state of Indiana, and has earned national recognition from CEC. The MAT program addresses the standards of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (INTASC). The Master of Arts in teaching program is for individuals who have already earned a bachelor's degree, but who are interested in becoming licensed as special education teachers in mild intervention (P-12).
