In addition, it is well suited for students who wish to attend law school. In fact, SHSU ranks in the top seven percent of national universities in law school acceptance.\n\nThe department also offers a minor in Public Administration and Public Policy. This is an online minor designed to serve students who wish to pursue careers in the public and nonprofit sectors.\n\nStudents may participate in the university's Center for Law, Engagement, and Politics (LEAP), Pi Sigma Alpha, or the campus political party organizations to get unique and hands-on experiences.\nInternships\n\nSHSU Political Science students have interned with city and county governments, the Texas legislature, the U.S. Congress, non-profit organizations, international think tanks, major political campaigns, and law offices.
