CNA's work in a variety of settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. They are an important part of the healthcare team, helping residents with many healthcare needs.\n\nThis Non- Credit training program is designed for students interested in pursuing a healthcare career focused on direct care of these residents. This program training is provided through instructor-led theory and textbook instruction, lab training, and clinical practice. The program is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe and effective care. After successful completion of the program, all candidates that have mastered all required theory, skills, and supervised clinical will be eligible to take the New York State Nursing Home Nurse Aide Competency Examination.\n\nEligible candidates must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, meet immunization and health compliance requirements, and maintain medical insurance while enrolled. In addition, must possess the following essentials skills: 1) able to read, write, understand, and speak the English language, 2) possess mental and emotional stability to develop appropriate relationships with patients, families, and members of the health care team.
