Students will learn about: the history of COVID 19, how the virus spreads, how contact tracing is performed, the relationship between contact tracing and public health, strategies to reduce transmission, resources and support for those contacted by the virus and/or in quarantine, protocols for contact tracing, associated technologies, and protection of patient privacy, several important ethical concepts and considerations, approaches for building rapport in diverse communities, communication barriers and strategies. The course has 7 self-paced comprehensive modules. Each module uses a combination of text, videos, relevant articles, and resources. Most participants will be able to complete the 12 hours of training in a 1-2 week time frame.
