Students who successfully complete this program will be eligible to take the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification exams for Airframe Powerplant Mechanic. This program is approved by the FAA, which requires that every single required hour of instruction be given to each student. Because of this requirement and the vital importance of mechanical performance, class attendance is an absolute must to remain in good standing in the program. Failure to attend the classes in accordance with instructor established guidelines may result in dismissal from the program. The program is divided into three separate segments: general aviation, airframe, and power plant. The required segments are taken sequentially in an intensive combination of lecture and laboratory learning. Students may be required to attend classes as many as 30 clock hours per week."},"ceterms:occupationType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.onetcenter.org/taxonomy.html","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/49-3011.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"49-3011.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Aircraft Mechanics and Service Technicians"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul aircraft engines and assemblies, such as hydraulic and pneumatic systems."}}],"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://anc.edu/","ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}},"ceterms:instructionalProgramType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/Default.aspx?y=56","ceterms:targetNode":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/cipdetail.aspx?y=56\u0026cip=47.0608","ceterms:codedNotation":"47.0608","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Classification of Instructional Programs"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Aircraft Powerplant Technology/Technician"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all types of aircraft powerplant and related systems.
