The program is offered in a completely online environment and may be entered at the beginning of any quarter. It is available to students anywhere with internet access. Classes are totally self-contained and focus on providing the training required for a student to obtain an entry-level position as a medical transcriptionist or editor.Students utilize their own computer and can anticipate spending anywhere from 15 to 40-50 hours per week depending on course load to complete the program. Students graduate with a medical transcription and editing certificate.Graduates work as medical transcriptionists and medical transcription editors for medical transcription services, hospitals, and clinics. Many work from home as employees or independent or sub-contractors with the opportunity to be their own boss.
