Courses are taught by experienced veterinarians and veterinary technicians who are aware of what your future employers will expect you to know. After completing the program coursework, the students gain on-the-job experience through an internship program at a veterinary clinic, laboratory, research facility, humane society, production animal operation, wildlife center, or zoo. Students will benefit from: ' State-of-the-art equipment and facilities for extensive hands-on training, including a digital X-ray facility, laser surgery equipment, and dental units ' Simulated on-site Veterinary Clinic ' Kennel facility with dogs, cats, small animals and exotics ' Opportunities for hands-on experience with large animals ' The most experienced Vet Tech faculty in the state ' Small class sizes ' One of the lowest tuition rates of any Veterinary Technology program in the state of Minnesota ' A fully-accredited American Veterinary Medical Association program. The Veterinary Technology major is academically rigorous and requires highly motivated individuals dedicated to success. Applicants are expected to spend at least one week observing or working in a veterinary clinic with a veterinary technician prior to starting the program. He/she is a highly trained paraprofessional and an integral part of the veterinary medical team.
