The program prepares students for employment within the industry as early childhood educators, lead preschool teachers, VPK teachers, before-care/after-care workers and supervisors, child development specialists, directors/owners, and family day care home operators. \nDuring the 600-hour course, students learn the 6 CDA Competencies and 13 functional areas of: Health, Safety, Learning Environment, Physical, Cognitive, Communication, Creative, Self, Social, Guidance, Families, Program Management\nand Professionalism. \n\nCurriculum meets and exceeds the National CDA and upon completion of the 120 Classroom Instruction Hours; 480 On-The- Job Training Hours; Professional Portfolio; and coursework; students will be awarded the ECPC Staff Credential showing their proficiency to work as a lead teacher in a childcare setting. This Staff Credential can articulate into 9 college credit hours at several colleges in the area for those wanting to go on for their AA/AS or BA/BS. \nWe pride ourselves on offering a course that allows adults the chance to attend class during the day, while simultaneously applying the skills learned in class to a real world, classroom experience.  Students learn through the methods of guided individual and group work, creative activities and a supportive, nurturing environment.
