Candidates will complete a 33-credit hour program that is aligned to the National Education Association's Teacher Leader Model standards, and promotes constructivist approaches to teaching and learning, emphasizing teacher leadership and teacher efficacy. Courses are designed to provide participants with methods and materials they can use to help their own students learn, including technology tools. Course instruction is designed to model best practices and procedures in the classroom while helping candidates understand and develop dispositional skills needed to be an effective teacher leader.\nThis program is open to candidates from all states. It does not lead to subject area licensure in Indiana. Prior to applying, an applicant is responsible for knowing whether or not this program will satisfy regulatory requirements for the state in which he or she may be seeking advanced standing.\nThis program is generally only offered online, however if there is a sufficient number of candidates in a specific location sponsored by a school or other education institution we may choose to offer the program onsite.\n\nProgram Learning Outcomes\nCandidates who complete this program should develop deeper understanding and skill in the following areas: \n- Domain 1 - Fostering a Collaborative Culture to Support Educator Development and Student Learning: Candidates use effective communication skills and knowledge of diversity to work collaboratively.\n- Domain 2 - Accessing and Using Research to Improve Practice and Student Learning: Candidates collect, analyze, and communicate school/classroom data and current research to improve student learning and assist their colleagues in this process.\n- Domain 3 - Promoting Professional Learning for Continuous Improvement: Candidates will collaborate with colleagues to plan sustainable professional development that meets diverse learning needs and aligns with school/ district goals.\n- Domain 4 - Facilitating Improvements in Instruction and Student Learning: Candidates will analyze data from multiple sources to identify curriculum/instruction needs and will serve as a team leader/mentor to foster professional growth to meet these needs and improve student learning.\n- Domain 5 - Promoting the Use of Assessments and Data for School and District Improvement: Candidates will work with colleagues to identify and use assessment tools and collect data to promote change for school/district improvement.\n- Domain 6 - Improving Outreach and Collaboration with Families and Community: Candidates will use understanding of diversity and effective technology and communication skills to collaborate with family and community stakeholders for improved educational experiences and student achievement.\n- Domain 7 - Advocating for Student Learning and the Profession: Candidates will collaborate with families, communities and colleagues to advocate for effective educational approaches."},"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://www.indwes.edu/adult-graduate/programs/ms-curriculum-assessment-and-instruction","ceterms:availableOnlineAt":["https://www.indwes.edu/adult-graduate/programs/ms-curriculum-assessment-and-instruction"],"ceterms:availabilityListing":["https://www.indwes.edu/adult-graduate/programs/ms-curriculum-assessment-and-instruction"],"ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"CredentialStatus"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"}}}
