Students take courses in statistics, calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. These courses are firstand second-year degree requirements for the first two years of a bachelor's degree in mathematics. LACC graduates have gone on to earn bachelor's degrees from UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, UCI, the California State University system, and nationwide. Students can join the award-winning Math Club. LACC Math Club students have been National Champions for the AMATYC National Mathematics Competition five times in the last 18 years. The Math Club placed in the top six for the past 16 years. Math scholarships are available.\n\nPlease see the college Catalog for the most up-to-date description."},"ceterms:accreditedBy":["_:3f8d9959-8c0a-4270-9687-d6c73e02e13b"],"ceterms:dateEffective":"2019-06-01","ceterms:occupationType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/15-2099.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"15-2099.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Mathematical Science Occupations, All Other"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"All mathematical scientists not listed separately."}}],"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://programmap.lacitycollege.edu/academics","ceterms:estimatedDuration":[{"@type":"ceterms:DurationProfile","ceterms:exactDuration":"P20M"}],"ceterms:availabilityListing":["https://www.lacitycollege.edu"],"ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}},"ceterms:instructionalProgramType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/Default.aspx?y=55","ceterms:targetNode":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/cipdetail.aspx?y=56\u0026cip=27.0101","ceterms:codedNotation":"27.0101","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Classification of Instructional Programs"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Mathematics, General"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"A general program that focuses on the analysis of quantities, magnitudes, forms, and their relationships, using symbolic logic and language.
