This coursework includes observation experiences in the classroom, and a range of education courses such as Introduction to Education, Child and Adolescent Development, Educational Psychology, and Multicultural Education. \n\nOur Graduates\n\nAn Associate of Science in Secondary Education is primarily designed to prepare students to transfer successfully to a four-year institution where students will earn their Bachelor's degree in their content area with an education concentration. Once the bachelor's degree is earned and students have passed the qualifying exams, they will be awarded their teaching certification. Many of our graduates will transfer to an Indiana-supported four year university to complete the degree. Graduates will also have the option of enrolling at a private institution that accepts our transfer pathway.\n\nTransfer Partners\n\nGraduates of our Associate of Science (AS) degree can transfer seamlessly to a four-year institution through our \"Transfer as a Junior\" program. To learn more about our Transfer as a Junior programs, and how they can save you money, visit our TSAP page.  Please keep in mind, you will also need to be admitted to the four-year institution you intend to transfer into. Admission is not guaranteed just by enrolling in a Transfer as a Junior program."},"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://www.ivytech.edu/secondary-education/index.html","ceterms:estimatedDuration":[{"@type":"ceterms:DurationProfile","ceterms:description":{"en-US":"4 semesters"},"ceterms:exactDuration":"P2Y"}],"ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}},"ceterms:learningDeliveryType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/Delivery","ceterms:targetNode":"deliveryType:InPerson","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Delivery Type"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"In-Person Only"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Delivery is only face-to-face."}}],"ceterms:isAdvancedStandingFor":[{"@type":"ceterms:ConditionProfile","ceterms:name":{"en-US":"Connections for B.A./B.S. in Chemistry Education"},"ceterms:assertedBy":["https://credentialengineregistry.org/resources/ce-1abb6c52-0f8c-4b17-9f89-7e9807673106"],"ceterms:creditValue":[{"@type":"ceterms:ValueProfile","schema:value":60.0,"schema:description":{"en-US":"At minimum 60 credit hours will transfer with this TSAP."},"ceterms:creditUnitType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CreditUnit","ceterms:targetNode":"creditUnit:SemesterHour","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credit Unit"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Semester Hour"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Credit that is issued or accepted at a semester level."}}]}],"ceterms:description":{"en-US":"The courses mapped for this Transfer Single Articulation Pathway (TSAP) associate's degree are based upon a set of competencies agreed upon across all of the public institutions and are the minimum competencies for transfer in this major.\n\nAfter a statewide review process, some four-year universities may have specific competencies required that are not included in this mapping and may limit the admission options for TSAP students. To increase the likelihood of student success, TSAP advisors in the two-year programs are encouraged to contact the academic advising offices in the major area of the TSAPs at the four-year institutions to discuss the minimum criteria for admission.\n\nIt is important that individual students review the published TSAP admission criteria at the specific university/campus to which they wish to transfer. This should be done at the beginning of their enrollment as a TSAP student at either Ivy Tech or Vincennes University. Understanding admission and degree requirements will facilitate student success. The universities in the state of Indiana are committed to the success of TSAP students, and student success is a three-way partnership among students and the academic advisors at both institutions.\n\nA lack of communication after students enroll in a TSAP could result in a misunderstanding of the admission requirements to a specific four-year institution and/or TSAP program, such as minimum grades, specific course sequences, etc., and such misunderstanding could affect the time to graduation.\n\nhttps://transferin.net/ways-to-earn-credit/transfer-pathways/"},"ceterms:targetCredential":["https://credentialengineregistry.org/resources/ce-7e818716-ddbf-4c9f-acfb-f931ee1acbab"],"ceterms:creditUnitTypeDescription":{"en-US":"At minimum 60 credit hours will transfer with this TSAP."}}],"ceterms:instructionalProgramType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/Default.aspx?y=56","ceterms:targetNode":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/cipdetail.aspx?y=56\u0026cip=13.1323","ceterms:codedNotation":"13.1323","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Classification of Instructional Programs"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Chemistry Teacher Education"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"A program that prepares individuals to teach chemistry programs at various educational levels."}}]}
