This program ensures that students are skilled in the\noperation, design, installation, troubleshooting and repair of air conditioning,\nrefrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment for today and the future.\nStudents enrolled in this program will obtain instruction and demonstrate\nskills and knowledge in construction safety, measuring and blueprint reading,\ncalculations of ductwork \u0026 heating systems with an emphasis on both heat loss\nand heat gain heating and cooling calculations. Students are also instructed on\ndomestic and commercial refrigeration systems, and gas, oil and electric heating\nof both water and steam. The systems that control indoor climate are constantly\nevolving to reflect technological advancements and environmental concerns and\nLincoln students will be prepared to meet the evolution.\nStudents will receive both classroom and lab learning opportunities simulating\nreal-world applications. Students are trained in the installation and repair of\nrefrigeration, heating, and cooling mechanical and electrical control systems of\nboth residential homes and commercial buildings. In addition, students receive\ninstruction in energy efficiency, renewable energy, as well as energy conservation\npractices, energy auditing techniques and system performance verification of\nheating and cooling equipment.\nUpon completion of this program, graduates can expect to meet the essential\nentry level skills and knowledge required of an HVAC technician. With\nadditional experience graduates may pursue opportunities allowing them to work\nindependently, without direct supervision; supervise crews or teams of other\ntechnicians; or start their own business. Graduates may also choose to specialize\nin one or more specific areas of the HVAC market including refrigeration, air\nconditioning, and
