Students will also develop skills to evaluate alternative courses of action, thereby improving the efficiency of the health care system. \r\n\r\nMedical Terminology\r\nMedical terminology is the technical language of health care. If you are planning on entering the health field for employment, this is a highly recommended course to be taken before enrolling in the certification program of your choice. Emphasis is placed on prefixes, suffixes, abbreviations, pronunciation and spelling of basic medical terms. \r\n\r\nAnatomy and Physiology\r\nThe anatomy and physiology of the human body is presented as an integrated science. Each major body system is described and analyzed to illustrate normal function as well as pathology. Topics include basic biochemical elements, skin, bones, muscles, the nervous system, the senses, and the endocrine system. \r\nMedical Billing Coding\r\nThis course will provide knowledge of medical office operations, which includes billing and coding, processing insurance forms, and using medical software.
