The program combines classes, internships, and hands-on training with state-of-the-art equipment, providing essential experience and knowledge in the broadcasting/media field.  MCC is equipped with a TV studio on campus, complete with state-of-the-art control room with satellite downlink equipment, cable television origination equipment, video duplication, closed circuit system, and non-linear editing equipment.  There are 2 major emphases in the curriculum:  Radio/Television  Students interested in radio or television broadcasting will get valuable training and experience in news casting, weather casting, and sports casting. They will also write, produce, direct, and edit programs for radio and for television using Marshalltown Educational Television (MET12), cable channel 12.  Corporate Media  Students interested in corporate media will receive a special emphasis on creating audio/visual presentations and understanding emerging multi-media technologies.
