Please note that programs offered during the day are available to adults on a space available basis, with priority going to high school students. \n\nIn Level 1 of this program, students will be introduced to and have the opportunity to explore machining, welding, sheet metal, 3D printing, CAD/CAM, and CNC programming. Students will also be able to develop their artistic side in our blacksmith shop. In Level 2, students will be able to focus on and enhance the skills they were introduced to in Manufacturing I. Solidworks, a CAD industry standard, will be taught for a semester two days weekly. Students will have the opportunity to receive a certification in Solidworks which is an industry-recognized credential. Students will also be furthering their skill-generating toolpaths with advanced CAM software. Students will be encouraged to develop, and design projects of their choice using all the tools available to them in our manufacturing lab.\n\nThis program, in conjunction with the other listed requirements for the NIMS Machining Level 1 standards, will prepare users for National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certification in CNC Milling: Operations; CNC Turning: Operations; CNC Milling: Programming, Setup, and Operations; CNC Turning: Programming, Setup, and Operations; Drill Press Skills, Grinding Skills, Job Planning, Benchwork, and Layout; Manual Machining Skills; Measurement, Materials, and Safety; Turning Operations: Turning Between Centers, and Turning Operations: Chucking.
