Upon successful completion of all course work and the state-required licensure examinations, candidates can be recommended for a P-12 Exceptional Needs - Mild Intervention teaching license in the state of Indiana.\nThis program is open to candidates from all states and leads to Exceptional Needs-Mild Intervention licensure in Indiana. Prior to applying to the program, candidates are responsible for being knowledgeable of the licensure requirements of their state and whether or not the program selected will satisfy the requirements of the state for which she or he may be seeking additional licensure.\n\nProgram Learning Outcomes\nThe mission of the Teaching Certificate Program is to prepare teacher leaders to provide advanced knowledge in a specific content area leading to additional licensure that translates into effective teaching performances and dispositions, all of which are focused on improving P-12 student learning.\n\nUpon completion of this program, candidates should be able to:\n- Use knowledge of general and specialized curricular content to create individualized learning for students with exceptional needs.\n- Select and administer appropriate assessments and analyze data from multiple sources to make data-driven decisions for students with exceptional needs.\n- Select evidence-based instructional strategies and resources and implement them effectively to meet exceptional learning needs.\n- Demonstrate the ability to create safe, inclusive learning environments by implementing evidence-based behavioral interventions for students with exceptional needs.\n- Collaborate with families, colleagues, related service providers, and other stakeholders to provide appropriate learning experiences for students with exceptional needs.\n- Use foundational knowledge of the field and the professional Ethical Principles and Practice Standards to develop ethical, legally compliant communications and learning plans for students with exceptional needs.\n- Identify diverse cultural and linguistic needs and implement available technologies to develop culturally responsive learning plans.\n- Demonstrate ethical, Christ-like attitudes, values, and biblical worldview in their professional behaviors with colleagues and students with exceptional needs.\n- Demonstrate competence in the following School of Educational Leadership's dispositional domains: Communication, Critical Thinking, Human Interaction, Leadership, and Professionalism."},"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://www.indwes.edu/adult-graduate/programs/indiana-teaching-certificate-exceptional-learners","ceterms:availableOnlineAt":["https://www.indwes.edu/adult-graduate/programs/indiana-teaching-certificate-exceptional-learners"],"ceterms:availabilityListing":["https://www.indwes.edu/adult-graduate/programs/indiana-teaching-certificate-exceptional-learners"],"ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"CredentialStatus"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"}}}
