Since it was first established in 1961, our doctoral program has become a focal point for Italian studies in North America and has provided advanced training for many students who are now leaders in their fields. To date, our graduates have had highly successful career placements in colleges, universities, cultural foundations, and businesses despite declining economic conditions in higher education. Strong allied programs in comparative literature, art history, medieval studies, Renaissance studies, the center for theoretical inquiry in the humanities, cinema and media, and gender studies, among others, provide unequaled opportunities for the inquisitive mind, as do the Jacobs School of Music and The Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction. Our faculty offer a broad range of expertise, with research ranging from an exploration of the superhero genre to Dante and economics."},"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"https://frit.indiana.edu/graduate/italian.html","ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}},"ceterms:learningDeliveryType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/Delivery","ceterms:targetNode":"deliveryType:InPerson","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Delivery Type"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"In-Person Only"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Delivery is only face-to-face."}}],"ceterms:instructionalProgramType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/Default.aspx?y=56","ceterms:targetNode":"https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cipcode/cipdetail.aspx?y=56\u0026cip=16.0902","ceterms:codedNotation":"16.0902","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Classification of Instructional Programs"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Italian Language and Literature"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"A program that focuses on the Italian language and related dialects.
