They collect samples from patients for testing, perform routine laboratory tests, record food and liquid intake and output. L.P.N.\u0012s help patients with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, maintain the patients comfort level, and care for their emotional needs. Additionally, they may keep accurate medical records, develop and/or implement plans of care, and perform other clerical duties. Practical Nurses work in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, physician\u0012s offices, home health agencies, residential care facilities, and clinics. A growing number of Licensed Practical Nurses will provide health care in the home as opposed to a medical facility. After successful completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to apply to take the State of Missouri examination to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. The Practical Nursing Program is approved to be offered at the County campus.
