The career pathway of this program focuses on sustainable alternatives to industrialized farming and how to be successful in the marketplace without competing with industrialized and specialized large-scale operations. Students will develop the skills necessary to market their product through farmers markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture and restaurants as part of the local food-to-table movement. In the transfer pathway students will take a series of core courses and electives that will prepare them to complete a Bachelor of Science as well as work in this field. As advocates for the production of healthy, environmentally friendly food in their community, students will understand the holistic role of the agro-ecosystem and how to balance the economic, environmental and social needs of the farmer and community. Students will specialize through guided pathways based on their agricultural preference, such as greenhouse and high tunnel farming, open field farming, fruit, tree, vineyard as well as agricultural management, policy and marketing."},"ceterms:estimatedCost":[{"@type":"ceterms:CostProfile","ceterms:name":{"en-US":"Cost Profile"},"ceterms:price":12900.0,"ceterms:currency":"US Dollar","ceterms:costDetails":"https://www.nhti.edu/student-resources/how-do-i-pay-my-tuition-and-fees/tuition-and-fees","ceterms:description":{"en-US":"Estimated Cost"},"ceterms:directCostType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CostType","ceterms:targetNode":"costType:Tuition","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"CostType"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Tuition"}}}],"ceterms:occupationType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/11-1011.03","ceterms:codedNotation":"11-1011.03","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Chief Sustainability Officers"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Communicate and coordinate with management, shareholders, customers, and employees to address sustainability issues.
