Students must have better than average ability to master a sizeable course load of scientific and medical material in a relatively short time.In order for a student to be eligible to sit for the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) the student must graduate from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited program. The AVMA has specific educational criteria which must be taught in a program and which must be learned by students. In order to adequately cover the AVMA specified educational criteria, Veterinary Technician AAS degree programs average about 72 credits nationally, and slightly higher in Minnesota. Vermilion's Veterinary Technology AAS degree program includes 18 credits MnTC and 57 credits technical coursework in the field of Veterinary Technology.  It is designed to include five semesters of academic coursework, and concludes with an internship the sixth semester.  Vermilion is one of only a few AVMA accredited programs in Minnesota, and the only one in the northern portion of the state."},"ceterms:estimatedCost":[{"@type":"ceterms:CostProfile","ceterms:currency":"USD","ceterms:costDetails":"http://www.vcc.edu","ceterms:description":{"en-US":"No description provided."},"ceterms:directCostType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CostType","ceterms:targetNode":"costType:Tuition","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Cost Type"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Tuition"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Cost for teaching and instruction."}}}],"ceterms:subjectWebpage":"http://www.vcc.edu","ceterms:credentialStatusType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CredentialStatus","ceterms:targetNode":"credentialStat:Active","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Credential Status"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Active"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Awards of the credential are ongoing."}}}
