This program is designed to develop knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, lab rules and regulations, and universal precautions for a clinical laboratory. Graduates of this program are prepared to sit for the Certified Medical Lab Assistant (CM LA) certification exam, offered by American Medical Technologists (AMT). MedCerts graduates are eligible to take the exam and will earn provisional certification upon passing. Once employed as a Lab Assistant, graduates will gain the 120 hours of documented, approved clinical laboratory experience required for the grant of full certification. Graduates are also eligible for a secondary certification, Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), offered through the National Healthcareer Association (N HA). As with the CMLA, upon passing the CPT exam candidates are kept in provisional status until clinical competencies have been demonstrated on the job."},"ceterms:estimatedCost":[{"@type":"ceterms:CostProfile","ceterms:name":{"en-US":"Cost Profile"},"ceterms:price":4000.0,"ceterms:currency":"US Dollar","ceterms:costDetails":"https://www.medcerts.com","ceterms:description":{"en-US":"This is the summary of the costs associated with this credential."},"ceterms:directCostType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CostType","ceterms:targetNode":"costType:Tuition","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Cost Type"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Tuition"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Cost for teaching and instruction."}}},{"@type":"ceterms:CostProfile","ceterms:name":{"en-US":"Cost Profile"},"ceterms:price":4000.0,"ceterms:currency":"US Dollar","ceterms:costDetails":"https://www.medcerts.com","ceterms:description":{"en-US":"This is the summary of the costs associated with this credential."},"ceterms:directCostType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CostType","ceterms:targetNode":"costType:AggregateCost","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Cost Type"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Aggregate Cost"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Sum of direct costs."}}}],"ceterms:occupationType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.onetcenter.org/taxonomy.html","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/25-1071.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"25-1071.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Health Specialties Teachers, Postsecondary"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Teach courses in health specialties, in fields such as dentistry, laboratory technology, medicine, pharmacy, public health, therapy, and veterinary medicine."}},{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.onetcenter.org/taxonomy.html","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/29-2012.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"29-2012.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Medical and Clinical Laboratory Technicians"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Perform routine medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
