If an applicant has not completed all parts of the national board exams, but has been licensed in good standing as a chiropractor in another state or country for at least three (3) years directly preceding the application, he/she may substitute any missing part(s) of the national boards by taking and passing the Special Purpose Exam for Chiropractors (SPEC), administered by the NBCE. Information regarding the SPEC can only be obtained by contacting the NBCE at (970) 356-9100.\r\n\r\nSubmit an application and a non-refundable processing fee. The application processing time may take up to 30 days once the Board has received the application, fees, and all supporting documents, including a criminal background check. Applications are held for up to two years from the date they are received.\r\nIMPORTANT NOTE: Do not send any documentation to the Board until you have submitted your application and fees. All documents received prior to receiving your application will not be kept and you will be required to resubmit them.\r\n\r\nSubmit to a criminal background investigation. If an applicant has ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony, other than a simple traffic violation, please refer to Chapter 75, §Rule 75.3 of the Texas Administrative Code.
