The Transfer degree ensures enrollment and trans-\nfer opportunities at California State Universities and meets\nthe lower division major requirements at most universities.\nThe major provides students with a comprehensive under-\nstanding and appreciation for the human species in both\nbiological and cultural aspects. Students study diverse cul-\ntures and their social, political, and economic ways of life,\nand they examine the biological roots of humanity and the\nways it has evolved anatomically, behaviorally, and cul-\nturally. The required courses introduce students to human\ndiversity with respect to all aspects of behavior, language,\nmaterial culture, religion, and adaptation to the environ-\nment, and students receive training in basic scientific\nmethods, including data collection and analysis. The skills\nand perspective acquired through achievement of a Bach-\nelors degree in anthropology prepare students for careers\nin academia, medicine, business, marketing, law, criminal\nscience, forensics, public health, education, and diverse\nforms of public service. Students completing this degree\nwill be prepared for upper division courses in Anthropol-\nogy. Students are required to complete 60 semester units\nof CSU transferable coursework with a minimum GPA of 2.0,\nincluding a minimum of 18 units in the major with a grade\nof \"C\" (or \"P\") for each course in the major. In List B, Students\nmust choose only one lecture/laboratory course combina-\ntion for a maximum of 5 units.
