By state law, a student must be certified as an Ohio EMT before enrolling in any Ohio Paramedic Certificate Program. In addition to the above, to be eligible for admission into the Paramedic Certificate program students must also complete a pre-requisite course EMS 1002 (Paramedic Preparation Course) and a pretesting process, which includes a FISDAP Entrance Exam.The Emergency Medical Services program offers the Paramedic Certificate accredited by the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS (certificate # 311).
