Students who successfully earn the\nAssociate in Arts in Economics for Transfer by completing a\nmaximum of 60 transferable units are guaranteed transfer\nadmission into a California State University (CSU) campus\nto further the study of economics.\nWhile at least a baccalaureate degree is recommended\nfor preparation for those considering professional careers,\ncompletion of this curriculum will demonstrate commit-\nment to the field and provide comprehensive preparation\nfor further academic study through upper-division course\nwork. This curriculum specifically prepares the prospective\ntransfer student for upper-division coursework in Econom-\nics or a similar major at a California State University (CSU)\ncampus. Students should consult a counselor and/or the\ncatalog of the transfer college or university to plan a spe-\ncific program of study to meet the college or university's\nrequirements.\nThe Student Transfer Achievement Reform Act (Senate Bill\n1440, now codified in California Education Code sections\n66746-66749) guarantees admission to a California State\nUniversity (CSU) campus for any community college stu-\ndent who completes an \"associate degree for transfer\". The\nAA-T degree is intended for students who plan to complete\na bachelor's degree in a similar major at a CSU campus.\nStudents completing these degrees (AA-T) are guaranteed\nadmission to the CSU system, but not to a particular cam-\npus or major. Students transferring to a CSU campus that\ndoes accept the AA-T will be required to complete no more\nthan 60 units after transfer to earn a bachelor's degree\n(unless the major is designated \"high-unit,\" which econom-\nics is not).
