It leverages existing partnerships with industry to launch students into a growing field with great career prospects. Industrial Maintenance job opportunities are projected to grow at 17% per year! Millwrights are responsible for installing and maintaining large gas and steam turbines in power plants, conveyer systems, and generators. They also carry out precision work and industrial maintenance in manufacturing plants. The Industrial Mechanic program provides the student with the welding skills and knowledge necessary to achieve the AWS D 1.5 certifications in the FCAW (Flux Cored) and SMAW (Stick) processes. The student will also learn the GTAW (TIG) process and the necessary safety skills and knowledge needed for employment in today's industry. The student will also receive more detailed instruction in maintenance, including Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Rigging and Hoisting, and Mechanical Systems. In addition, WMCC has partnered with the Eastern Millwright Regional Council to deliver two courses: Introduction to Maintenance/Millwright and Safety in Industry. This certificate also satisfies all of the prerequisites for the Pipe Welding Certificate."},"ceterms:estimatedCost":[{"@type":"ceterms:CostProfile","ceterms:name":{"en-US":"Cost Profile"},"ceterms:price":7740.0,"ceterms:currency":"US Dollar","ceterms:costDetails":"https://www.wmcc.edu/admissions/college-expenses/affordability","ceterms:description":{"en-US":"Estimated Cost"},"ceterms:directCostType":{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://credreg.net/ctdl/terms/CostType","ceterms:targetNode":"costType:Tuition","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"CostType"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Tuition"}}}],"ceterms:occupationType":[{"@type":"ceterms:CredentialAlignmentObject","ceterms:framework":"https://www.bls.gov/soc/","ceterms:targetNode":"https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/17-3026.00","ceterms:codedNotation":"17-3026.00","ceterms:frameworkName":{"en-US":"Standard Occupational Classification"},"ceterms:targetNodeName":{"en-US":"Industrial Engineering Technicians"},"ceterms:targetNodeDescription":{"en-US":"Apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production, usually under the direction of engineering staff.
