Students must be qualified employees of a partner health care provider in order to be eligible for the program. This one year course of study has a blend of on-campus, online, and hybrid courses mixed with a 20 hour per week apprenticeship experience at a health care provider. Courses vary from four to eight weeks in length. At the conclusion of the program, graduates are qualified to sit for board examinations through either the certifying board of the American Medical Technologists (AMT) to become a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or through the certifying board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
