Course Breakdown: Tool, grinder, and welding equipment safety; Pipefitting; Torch cutting safety, set-up, and procedures; Metallurgy; Welding terminology; SMAW and GTAW welding procedures for root; SMAW butt-welds with 37.5-degree bevel using 6010 and 7018 in 2G, 3G, 5G, and 6G positions; GTAW butt-welds with 37.5-degree bevel using 70s wire in 2G, 3G, 5G, and 6G positions; SMAW \u0026 FCAW plate preparation and welding (including fillet welds, beveled open butt-welds, beveled with backing strip welds, and welds in all positions); Proper rod use for 6010 and 7018; Final weld tests administered and reviewed by licensed CWI.
